Looking for a unicorn? This is what it might look like.
Local governments work to keep communities safe. They issue licenses for many things. A license is permission from the government to own or do something. For example, you need to have a license to drive a car.
In some communities, you need a license to raise chickens. Many dog and cat owners have a license. But, what about unicorns? Who would you ask for a unicorn license?
You would ask your local government, of course! A young girl in California got the first ever unicorn license. She doesn’t have the unicorn, yet. She’s still searching.
When she does find a unicorn, she’ll be allowed to keep it in her backyard. But, she must follow these rules.
- The horn must be polished at least once a month.
- It must have access to sunbeams, moonbeams, and rainbows.
- It must be fed its favorite treat—watermelon.
