Mo’ne Davis pitched for Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons in the Little League World Series.

When 13-year-old Mo’ne Davis of the Taney Dragons pitched a shutout in her first game in the Little League World Series, the sports world took notice. In doing so, she became the first female pitcher to “blank” a team in the series. This means that the other team was unable to score any points. Mo’ne struck out eight batters and allowed only two hits and no walks.

Mo’ne is one of only two girls to play in the 2014 Little League World Series. She is the first American girl to play in the series since 2004. She is so popular that more people watched the series on television this year than ever before. She was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, becoming the youngest athlete to appear there. She is also the first little league player to appear on the cover. Mo’ne’s social media pages have seen huge jumps in followers.

Mo’ne is one of several pitchers for the Taney Dragons, a little league team from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She throws a 70-mile-per-hour fastball. The average speed for a fastball in her age class is in the high 50-mile-per-hour to low 60-mile-per-hour range. She also throws an amazing curveball that is hard for players to hit.

On and off the baseball diamond, Mo’ne is known for her confidence, leadership skills, and for being a great team player. She is also an excellent student. Her grades often earn her a spot on her school’s honor role.

This will be Mo’ne Davis’s last Little League World Series. At age 13, she will be too old to play in next year’s series. However, she will continue to play sports. In addition to baseball, she plays point guard in basketball and mid-fielder in soccer. Although she excels in all the sports she plays, she considers basketball to be her primary sport. Her dream is to play women’s basketball at the University of Connecticut. The university is known for having the best women’s basketball team in the United States.
